Silverlens New York is pleased to present 'Fugitive Land' opening October 24, 2024. A three-person exhibition organized by Christopher Y. Lew—founder of C/O: Curatorial Office, under whose auspices he has collaborated with Silverlens since 2023, consulting on the overall program and select exhibitions—'Fugitive Land' brings together works by Santiago Bose, Michael Joo, and Stephanie Syjuco. Through a range of strategies, this intergenerational group of artists examines aspects of history and place that have been obscured by power and empire.

Silverlens Manila proudly announces The Carbon Footprint of the Stoic Heroic, a solo exhibition by Jose Tence Ruiz, showcasing mixed media works and self- portraits from the late 1970s alongside new works on canvas, a large installation that spans almost the entire large gallery space, and another depicting the artist’s body in the small gallery.

One of four artists shortlisted for the prestigious 2024 Turner Prize, Pio Abad’s (b. 1983, Manila, Philippines; lives and works in London, England) art explores cultural loss and colonial histories, often reflecting on his upbringing in the Philippines. Featuring drawings, etchings and sculptures that depict and transform artifacts from Oxford museums, Abad highlights their overlooked histories and connections to everyday household items. He was nominated for his solo exhibition 'To Those Sitting in Darkness' at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
